A daydream, a corner of paradise that has won the hearts of generations, Costa Smeralda® is one of the most exclusive and sustainable destinations in the world. Since its creation in 1962, with its crystal clear waters and high tourist offer, the Costa Smeralda® has always been the choice target for owners of the world’s most beautiful yachts, from Mentasti’s Croce del Sud to Onassis’ Christina O. In recent years, this beautiful stretch of Sardinia has seen a significant increase in the number of superyachts anchoring along its shores. From 2018 to 2023, the Costa Smeralda® has seen a steady increase in the presence of superyachts with peaks in summer when the global elite wish to explore the natural wonders and enjoy the impeccable service the area offers. There has been a 20% increase in annual attendance, with 2023 setting a new record. As many as 2,330 yachts have been recorded in the area between Porto Cervo, Cala di Volpe and Porto Rotondo. Let’s take a look at the most beautiful ones.

  • The 13-metre yacht Al Lusail is at the disposal of the Qatari royal family and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Built in the German shipyard Lürssen, the uniquely designed yacht Al Lusail is named after a Qatari city 15 km from the capital Doha.

  • In summer 2023, the Koru, the magnificent yacht of American Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, was one of many that docked in these clean waters. With its innovative and sustainable design, the Koru is not only a masterpiece of nautical engineering, but also a symbol of the commitment to environmental preservation.

  • The Ocean Victory is a superyacht built between 2010 and 2014 that immediately earned the title of one of the world’s largest private yachts. 140 m long and 20 m wide, the Ocean Victory counts six swimming-pools on four decks overlooked by a scenic terrace and an entire level used as landing pad for private helicopters.

  • The Azzam, valued at EUR 500 million, is an impressive vessel that is 180 m long and 21 m wide. With two gas turbines and two diesel engines, developing 94,000 horsepower, it can reach a maximum speed of 31.5 knots. It currently holds all the records for this category of yachts. Indeed, it is the longest, the most expensive and the fastest in the world.

  • Moskito is one of eight 55 m steel models that combine proven efficiency with sophisticated styling. It reaches a maximum speed of 15.5 knots with an autonomy of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. The heart of the vessel is the owner’s cabin, an 82 sq.mt. retreat on the main deck.
